The Federal Bureau of Investigation's Active Shooter Initiative team is being recognized for enhancing public safety through its live, interactive active shooter training for non-law enforcement personnel. This training aims to equip individuals with the skills to avoid and respond to active shooter incidents effectively. The team has developed a range of resources to support this initiative, including a detailed tri-fold brochure, a QR code linking to additional resources, a survival-focused video, and a pocket-sized Active Shooter Quick Reference Guide that encapsulates the Run Hide Fight strategy.

Since its inception, the team has conducted training sessions across the United States, reaching tens of thousands of people. The platform has been shared with various organizations, including federal agencies, private sector entities, schools, and community groups.

The benefits of this training are profound. It has bolstered the security posture of individuals and organizations by enhancing their situational awareness and preparedness. Feedback from participants indicates that the training has been instrumental in real-life situations, with some individuals crediting the training for their survival during active shooter events. Overall, the training has provided valuable tools and confidence to the public, reinforcing the FBI's commitment to community safety and support.
